Specialist Team invite you to the ‘NNN’ Review Den
Mansfield, Ashfield and Sherwood businesses are now able to access a new business support team. The No Nonsense Specialist Support Team is made up of a group of local renowned business people with proven expertise and long term experience in their individual fields. These include: Chris Adkin of Adkin Sinclair Chartered Accounts, Trevor Morley of TM Financial & Management Services Ltd, Russell Jones of Fidler & Pepper Solicitors and Diane Carter from Marathon Media.
The business support is available to all businesses, whether new start ups, well established, small or large. “We are here for you on a daily basis and you can call or email us with your concerns or problems and we guarantee response within 24 hours”. Diane stated.
A recent additional service offered by the team is the ‘NNN’ Business Review Panel Den. Whatever stage of your of business; well-established, new start up or at the entrepreneurial step you can present your idea for growth, diversion or set up to the group in confidentiality. The aim is to offer a ‘sounding block’ with expert advice from each of the individual specialists.
At the November ‘Den’ the panel were delighted to hear of the new Social Media business; ICEWIRE, set up by Fardad Amirsaeedi. Fardad is returning to his roots after spending a few years as the government’s e-business and business start-up adviser. He has recognised the increased demand upon businesses to market themselves through Twitter, Facebook and ‘Linked in’ and adopting cost effective solutions but the lack of skills is a barrier to success. He presented to the panel how he can take on this responsibility for the individual business and support them with this 21st Century marketing tool.
Fardad shared his experience of the ‘Den’ “I am heartened that an expert panel such as NNN Den is available as a sounding board to test my ideas on. I found the frank and constructive advice to be practical and straightforward. I would recommend it to anyone thinking of starting a business even if they are a business pro”. Many thanks

No Nonsense Networking..
At our 5 year anniversary celebratory meeting, attendees enjoyed a short workshop on the benefits of social media by Daniel Lacey of Ambition Web Marketing. Andrew Jones of Sherwood Solutions enlightened the audience with information related to the 2011 Census, in relation to the information required, the confidentiality issues and the penalties if not posted or completed on-line in time.
The meeting closed with a short motivational article and all attendees were treated to branded NNN logo celebratory cakes made especially for the occasion by B J Bakery of Blidworth.

Increased Productivity From Working at Home
Check out this article I read recently on noobpreneur web site regarding working at home. Many members actually do work from home and this article offers great tips on discipline and structure. Why not take a read? Send your comments back through and any tips you might have. Diane Carter Chair…….
Working at home. A dream that turns into reality to many, including me. The idea of working in your pajamas and work as you like (and how you like it) is intriguing.
To me, working at home is freedom; working at home brings you more ‘power’ to control your life and money making endeavours.
However, this quote proves true: “In great power lies great responsibility.”
With all the perks you enjoy from working at home, you will always have downsides – Those that if you didn’t take care well will lackluster your productivity, and will eventually push you to work outside your home.
Responsibilities in working from home
Working whenever you like, the way you like it is nice, but it often backfires. Why and how to prevent this
“I particularly liked this section – good idea when my friends drop in for a coffee or I feel like a chat to my Mum
I decided to sign up to receive more information and will happily KEEP YOU POSTED!”

7 Top Tips to Ensure Your Home Based Business Runs Smoothly
This is a recent article that was published on the web by an American lady called Karlie Valentine. However, if you read the tips I am sure you agree they are beneficial whatever country you are in – it is all about working from home, getting good structures in place and keeping motivated.
If you’re well on your way to homebased business success, these management tips will help you stay on top of your game.
“Leaving corporate America to run a homebased business is the ideal situation for many people: There’s no boss breathing down your neck, no boring meetings to attend and no 45-minute drives in rush hour traffic. Working from home can be a rewarding experience, but it’s easy to forget the basic rules of running a successful business when it’s 10 hours of just you, your computer and the distractions of home?
1.Structure your day. Continue reading
REDUNDANCY! WHAT CAN WE DO NOW?
WHAT’S THE FUTURE?
You have been made redundant or you feel threatened by redundancy – What do you do now?
First, find out what you are entitled to and how you go about claiming it as soon as possible. There are several sites on the internet including:-
- Benefit Entitlement – The Official Guide – www.direct.gov.uk
- Entitled to Benefits Guide by Martin Lewsis; money saving expert on GMTV. Check his site on: www.moneysavingexpert.com
A great idea is to be come interactive with others in the same situation. Why not visit our recently set up blog on www.plasticbottle.wordpress.com and utilise other people’s experiences as examples of how to overcome the various mental, physical and financial issues.
Once you have decided on a plan you need to follow this through. If you think self-employment is the way ahead; BE CAUTIOUS, do not fall into traps which may be lurking. Things to consider are:-
- Am I capable of organising a business? There is plenty of help out there on this, but you need to be talking to the right people. Seek more than one source of advice.
- Am I able to do what I propose? Are there any training schemes available to brush up your skills or retrain you
- Is there a market for what I want to supply? You need to be talking to people who are already in business. This is called; ‘Networking’ and is invaluable in helping any business survive or improve and meet contacts.
This list above is extensive and again try the blog for more barriers, dangers and means to overcome them. What is obvious is that before you commit yourself finally to any decision you need to try and ensure that it is as viable as you can make it.
So the answer to “What can we do now”? Is to be pro-active and look before you leap.
